OSJ presents at Arles Contemporain

At the invitation of the Manuel Riviera-Ortiz Foundation, Of Soul and Joy presents from July 4 to August 31, 2020 at Croisière, a selection of around thirty photographs by young talents;

Lunathi M’Ngxuma
Sibusiso Bheka
Thembinkosi Hlatshwayo
Thobeka N’Zwana
Vuyo Mabheka
Litha Kanda

and their mentors, Jabulani Dhlamini and Thandile Zwelibanzi.

The exhibition questions a variety of subjects, intimacy, family and politics, highlighting the complex intersection between education, culture and identity unique to South Africa.

Thanks to the mentorship offered by the Of Soul and Joy program, young photographers develop a precious testimony about the realities of the South African townships and the challenges they face.

Two episodes of the ART(ist) series, a series of video portraits of artists directed by Alexander Murphy and produced by Rubis Mécénat, will also be screened in the exhibition.
